Until this week, I had never heard of Horizon Wrestling Alliance. I had no idea that Southern Maryland had it’s own home grown wrestling league, or that they were organizing completely wild live shows. Apparently, I don’t get out much.
It turns out that the HWA is a fairly new group; their premier show was May 15th, so I’m not too far out of the loop on this one. I must admit, I’m somewhat intrigued by the idea of seeing live pro wrestling, Kurt Angle style (Post gold medal, after he joined Vince McMahon’s payroll).
The HWA has another show coming up soon, on July 17, 2011 at the Leonard Hall Drill Hall in Leonardtown. Doors open at 2:00 PM and the show begins at 3:00 PM. The cost is $10 per person. You can check out www.hwawrestling.org for more information, or find them on Facebook!
