Demolition Derby’s may be the last true redneck motorsport. Forget about NASCAR, it lost it’s southern street cred with Jeff Gordon’s first checkered flag. Derby’s aren’t run for big prize purses or huge sponsorship deals. They’re run for glory, carnage, and bragging rights.
On Saturday, September 10th and 17th, derby racing is back in Southern Maryland, courtesy of the Silver Hill, MD Lion’s Club. The race will be held at Potomac Speedway in Budd’s Creek, MD. Gates open at 5:30 and racing starts at 7pm. Tickets are $18 per person and $9 for kids 10 and under, and what kid doesn’t want to see pure automotive carnage?
If you want to enter the mayhem yourself, all you need is a (qualified) ride! Visit http://www.silverhilllionsclub.com for more information or call 1-888-44-DERBY.
