When I was a kid, Monster Trucks were cool. Watching gargantuan trucks destroy cars and race through mud covered tracks was the ultimate weekend event. Even today, seeing a monster truck brings a slight smirk to my face. They’re a symbol of masculinity, taunting the Prius-driving crowd with their wanton fuel consumption and car crushing prowess. Who’s gonna win in a fight between a monster truck and a hybrid? The monster truck, baby, every time!

If you feel the way that I do about monster trucks, you’re going to be thrilled to hear that the monster trucks Grave Digger and Spiderman are coming to Southern Maryland on Saturday, June 18th, 2011. They’re going to be in Mechanicsville at Budds Creek as the halftime show for the AMA Pro National Motocross Championship.  Full info for the weekend is available below as well as on the Budd’s Creek website.

Gates open Thursday 8am

Amateur racing : All AMA classes of motorcycles, minibikes, quads & youth quads.

Friday amateur racing on pro track Practice 8am: Friday Free Pro Pit Party 4-6pm : Friday night Supercross with Pit Bike classes : Practice 7pm

SATURDAY PRO NATIONAL
Practice 9am
Monster Truck Shows Noon and 3pm
Saturday night Supercross Practice 7pm

Sunday Amateur Day
Practice 8am : Sign-up $20 per event : Trophies 1 for every 3 riders given after each event: Amateur Sign-up : Thursday 6-9pm : Friday 6-9am & 5-7pm : Sunday 6-9am

Indoor Bathrooms and showers
Camping $30 per Vehicle (Buy you tickets online save $5)
Early entry pit passes $20 (good 9-noon Saturday)
