Day 141: 26th Annual St. Mary’s County Crab Festival is June 12th, 2011

Crabs, crafts, and music – what more could you ask for on a nice summer day? Be sure to check out the St. Mary’s Crab Festival, which is celebrating its 26th year sharing the delicious taste of crabs with Southern Maryland. You’ll be able to purchase great crab dishes, BBQ, and ice cream from places like Sandgates Inn, Copsey’s Seafood, Bear Creek BBQ, and Belle’s of St. Mary’s Ice Cream.

After you’ve stuffed yourself with delicious food, take a stroll through the crafters and pick up a treasure or two from local Southern Maryland artisans. And don’t forget to check out the great cars over in the car show! Then make your way over to the music of local country music legends Southbound to dance away!

All proceeds go to local and international Lions Club community service programs. And YES, the festival is pet friendly, so bring the dogs along to try their first steamed crab!
