Staying at a bed and breakfast is one of those things that should be on everybody’s bucket list. There’s something to be said for the home-away-from-home comfort that a hotel simply can’t provide when you’re traveling.
Bed and breakfasts are a staple of regions such as ours, and the Victorian Candle Bed and Breakfast in Hollywood, MD is one of the nicest in Southern Maryland.
The Victorian Candle was purpose-built just 8 years ago and has 8 different rooms available. Rates start at $105/night, making it an affordable alternative to stuffy chain hotels. In addition to the charming bedrooms, the Victorian Candle also has it’s own exercise room, Florida room, and hot tub.
In contrast to the beautiful, historic surroundings (Sotterley Plantation is located just down the street), the proprietors do offer free WiFi to guests that can’t manage to completely disconnect, and they even offer specials and discounts to guests who book their stay online.
If you’re planning a stay, I highly recommend calling ahead to see if you can coordinate your visit with their monthly murder mystery dinner, which I understand is fantastic!
