The gauntlet has been thrown, are you ready to rise to the challenge? Warrior Dash is a 3.11 mile foot race happening at Budds Creek in May, but this run isn’t for the faint of heart.
Think about the coolest, most bad-ass obstacles you could put in a 5k, and then double the intensity. Jumping over fire, rappelling down cliffs, running over rusted out cars, climbing through mud, barbed wire, old tires, barricades, and pretty much anything else you can imagine is all part of this race.
So, not only is the Warrior Dash all about getting as dirty as humanly possible while running a race (and jumping through FIRE!), participants are encouraged to sign up as teams to help each other out, and costumes are allowed and encouraged. What better way to spend a day on a race course with you and 5 of your closest/craziest friends than by dressing up as, oh i dunno, Roman Centurions, perhaps?
I desperately wish I could be there, I even have a friend with a spare ticket, but unfortunately I’ll be serving as best man at a wedding that day, and the groom has informed me that I am strictly forbidden from getting mud on the tux, what with it being a rental and all.
If you’re interested in joining or just watching the event, you can check out all of the details at their website. The event is spread over 2 days, from May 21st-22nd, and registration closes on May 9th, 2011. If you’re planning on attending or you have photos from the event, share them with us on Facebook!
