Day 50: See the Celtic Society of Southern Maryland’s Winter Concert

The Celtic Society of Southern Maryland has a dedicated membership and a strong calendar of annual events.  One of their first events this year is the Winter Celtic Music Festival, being headlined by a band called Solas – the most popular, influential, and exciting Celtic band to ever emerge from the United States. They will offer afternoon workshops ($40), 2 – 4PM, and an evening concert ($25) 7:30 pm, Saturday, 29 January 2011. The Celtic Society continues to work with St. Mary’s Ryken High School, Leonardtown, MD as a collaborative effort to present this event to the community.

More information and sound samples of Solas’ music is available at www.solasmusic.com. Details about this event are available at www.cssm.org, email fiddling@cssm.org, or call (301) 375-0534. Afternoon workshops from 2pm – 4pm will include Irish fiddle and penny whistle. Seating will be limited for the workshops, so register early!
