Community theatre is a strange beast. In true Forrest Gump style, you never know what you’re going to get. The show could be a sell out hit, or you could end up watching a show with more people on stage than in the audience.
That’s what makes events like the Maryland Community Theatre Festival so wonderful. It’s an annual opportunity to check out the best of local theatre companies and see a huge variety of different performers in a very short time period. The best part about it is that the annual festival is being held right here in Southern Maryland this year.
The Three Notch Theatre in Lexington Park, MD has the honor of hosting this years festival, and it’s all due to happen on January 15th-17th. The full schedule and list of shows is available on the festival website, but here are the local highlights:
Port Tobacco Players (from La Plata, MD): Sunday, January 17th, 10:30 a.m.
