Until yesterday, I had no idea we even had Alpaca Farms in Southern Maryland. Apparently, we do. Not only do we have an alpaca farm, they’re holding a winter open house on December 18th from 10am-4pm.
Nobella holds periodic open houses where they offer people a chance to visit the farm, meet the alpacas, and check out some of the alpaca wool products that they sell. Alpaca wool is pretty special because it’s incredibly soft, in fact I have a pair of alpaca mittens that I used during cold Chicago winters in college.
Some of the products that Nobella Farm is offering at their open house this yeah include yarn fiber, rugs and stadium pads. Even if you’re not interested in buying alpaca yarn, it’s probably still worth going and checking out the alpacas; they’re just so cute! According to Nobella Farm’s website, alpacas are friendly animals, and are very gentle around kids.
