Black Friday is a huge event for retailers in Southern Maryland. As I write this, people have already been lined up for hours outside of local stores in Southern Maryland like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc. Die hard black Friday shoppers are determined to get a deal, and they see nothing wrong with waiting outside for hours in the blistering cold and rain in order to get a few bucks off of the big ticket items on their holiday shopping list.
I’ve been out myself on black Friday for the past few years, and I’ve learned that it’s become an event in and of itself. It’s not just about the discounts that retailers are offering. It’s every bit about the thrill of the hunt, competing for the limited deals offered for a few short hours of the early morning.
So where are the best places to go shopping? If your only concern is great deals, you can probably just stay home and order from online retailers. If you truly want to enjoy the black Friday experience itself, I recommend choosing a store that is highly likely to have the most die hard of shoppers camping out in advance. You would be amazed by the lengths to which serious shoppers will go in order to get that discount TV or video game system.
